Modern Kitchenette

Modern Kitchenette

This Modern Kitchenette was sent to Colorado. While we’ve done a kitchenette in a farmhouse style, this is our first in Modern. It was built to match cabinets already in their home and have the ability to hold a beverage fridge.

Its 60″W x 28″D x 36″H. We used Maple for the base and painted it Tricorn Black. One of my favorite colors! For the top we used Poplar Hardwood and stained with Provincial from Minwax. We also sealed it with three coats of Spar-Urathane to protect it from water.

Instead of Stainless steel they wanted a white sink, so we ordered a porcelain undermount sink. It was a heavy sink, so we did have to put it some braces underneath to hold up the sink. No hardware or faucet was added but for the cabinet doors we used BLUM soft close hinges.

Overall it was a fun Modern build. It really goes with the Modern Farmhouse vibe that is trending right now. The fun thing about this design is that you can modify it where you don’t need the sink just the storage and area for the Wine Fridge. It could even be used for a basement for that Mancave or MIL suite. So many ways you can use this piece in your home.
