Back in July, I got to work with a great client. She had a vision of what she wanted the Mini-Fridge Console to look like and some bedroom furniture she wanted to match. So I got to sketching and we came up with this. A Modern Herringbone Mini-Fridge Console.

The Mini-Fridge Console is 60″W x 28″ D x 39″H. For the color we used Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black paint to give the piece a little Modern look. We then stained it with a plant based stain by Rubio called Chocolate/Charcoal . It’s a combo or brown/black color. Then I added a little distressing on all the edges of the build to give it a little rustic character.

The Top is made with Poplar Hardwood. This is standard for all of our Tops now. The wood is just beautiful and little more dent resistant. Now if you want this build to be outdoors, we recommend a different wood that’s treated for outdoors. We use Alder Thermo Treated wood for projects that are going to outdoors. The paint we use is also Interior/Exterior safe.

The framing is built with KILN Dried Fir. I plane, joint and sand all of it before building and painting. You can see all the distressing on the edges, it just gives it a little character. The walls, door and shelving are made with Birch. The Herringbone pattern is all Pine. I love pine because the imperfections on it can give some great character to a piece. Thats what this pine did on this piece

For the hardware we chose black to continue the modern vibe. You can order this hardware in stainless steel as well. The shelving is all adjustable inside and is also standard in all the mini-fridge consoles and includes 1 shelf.

Im happy it turned out exactly how she wanted. Here it is in her space.
