Sideboard on wheels

The 60″ Sideboard on wheels has to be my favorite build right now! Back in February our client was referred to us by another client. He sent us this picture of what he was thinking, but wanted to change it up and add these BIG metal casters! Aren’t they awesome?! Well, due to COVID-19 it set this build back a while. Two months. My client was nothing but patient and understanding through the whole process. Even though he got it late, he LOVED IT!

The Sideboard is 60″H x 19″D x 54″ H and SOLID! It’s painted in BEHR Winterscape I told my client it reminds me of Tiffany Blue. It’s a gorgeous color, especially with the black hardware. The black hardware POPS with the color. In the light it looks almost white, but if you look at it a different way you can see the pale blue. The paint is a Matte finish and all one color. First time for both for me I believe. I was concerned about the Matte finish, but it actually cleans up nice. Most of our builds are done with Satin and semi-gloss if requested. The base is built with pine, fir and maple engineered wood. I helped pick it up three times and I think it’s the heaviest build I’ve done. Like I said its SOLID. The Top was done in Poplar Hardwood.

We did all the hardware in Black. We did Black sliding door hardware, pulls, handles and of course the wheels. The wheels are 9″H x 2.5″W . They’re HUGE but they are what make this Sideboard. That’s where your eye goes first. The pulls are 6.5″W that I used on the sliding doors and drawer.

Originally we were going to do 3 drawers, but we change it to one big drawer that looks like 3. We then added the dividers so you can organize it nicely. Maybe for those fancy napkins, place mats and more. We used pre-finished Birch engineered wood for the drawer. Behind the sliding doors there’s more storage space. You can really use this sideboard for storing so many things. Especially in the Dining Room, storing all the holiday china and more.

Overall I’m happy with the way it turned out and even happier my client love it. I still look at my builds and say “I made this”. It amazes me how far I’ve come over the last few years. Im getting more advanced and trying new things. Let’s see what else I make. 🙂
