Maple Fancy Farmhouse Dining Table

The Fancy Farmhouse Table is probably my favorite table style. I actually have it in my house, but in a round style. This is the most requested style for dining tables.

I made my first Fancy Farmhouse Table back in 2018 for my cousin and her family.

Loaded it all up in my minivan. I still can’t believe we fit it in the minivan. I miss my Sienna. By far the best minivan ever and my all time favorite car. I said what I said, the best! I love a fun rugged SUV, but my minivan is still my all time favorite car.

Anyway…I think there’s a dining table, bench, end tables and I believe stools. There was a lot we made for their home and all had the rustic distressed look for their place out in the country.

The Fancy Farmhouse Table got fancier. This was the first time I made this style in all Maple. You know my love hate relationship with Maple. Hate how heavy it is, love how beautiful it looks. 2023 was the year of long tables, as I said before and this one was 9ft x 42″W x 30″H with two benches to go on each end of the table. She wanted to fit a lot of people around the table and this way would fit 12-14 people. If you did chairs it would be about 10-12 people.

Here is the building process. I had to pull out the bar clamps for this base since the base was 7ft wide. You can see all my lovely clamps and the stuff that I like to hide under my table. hahaha! It’ll be clear this week before I start my next build.

Time for the table top and bench tops.

Dry fit looking good. I forgot the benches fit on one side if they wanted to use them that way. Goodness my shop was a mess.

It was stained in Dark Walnut by Minwax. Dark Walnut on Maple is beautiful! I love the way the colors look on maple.

Here’s a close up of the top.

It’s a gorgeous table. It was picked up a few days before Christmas and was used for the holiday. They were going through a remodel and this was something she was really looking forward to getting in the dining room, so I’m really happy it all worked out.

Next week I’ll be starting my longest dining table yet at 10ft for some returning clients. I’ll make sure to post about it.
