Over the years I’ve made some Reception Desks for Salon and Dr offices. I’ve shipped some to different states and that was always so nerve wracking because I would fear an accident may happen at delivery and I wouldn’t be there to fix anything if it was major. I’ll post a few I’ve done and I’ll make sure to also update my Furniture Catalog with the rest.

The very first Reception Desk I made was for a local Salon in Gresham Or. back in 2020. She told me what she wanted, sent some inspiration pics and then I sketched something up and we came up with this. Delivery day came, I took the pic and now can’t find it. I just remember we had to go up some stairs in a small-ish area, but luckily there was help. It was cute little salon.

This next Reception Desk, happened to be right around the corner from where I delivered my first Receptionist Desk. When we got there Noah and I said “We’ve been here before”. We laughed about it and let the owner of this desk know. This desk was a little different, at 60″W it had soft close drawers and doors using BLUM hinges and slides. The best hinges and drawer slides ever! The front was a little different as we didn’t add any moulding so she could add her logo up front.

This was also for new salon opening in Happy Valley. The fun part about this build, was the big sliding door that went with it. It was 84″H x 42″W and made of Poplar and HEAVY. The brass hardware on this door was also GORGEOUS!! At the time brass sliding door hardware was so hard to find .The colors was also so fun to do. While it’s Pink, its name is Intimate White by Sherwin Williams. Lastly is the design on the door. It’s kinda hard to see, but it’s like a sunburst. She saw an inspiration picture and wanted to see if we could do one similar and we did with a handheld router. Nerve wracking because you only get ONE chance.

You can kind of see the design better in this picture. Along with a close up of the pretty hardware.

The last desk is the biggest we’ve done. It was 84″W and was being shipped to CA for a Dr office in 2021

I was so nervous when this got shipped, but luckily it made it there safely with no issues. I think this might have been my 3rd time making the Reception Desk and the first time this wide.

I haven’t done a Reception Desk in a while, but I’m thinking I may need to make one. There are a few builds I made A LOT of and I was just at the beginning of my woodworking journey. Knowing what I know now I just want to remake them with the new skills learned and some updating. We’ll see.
