No, not us. Our first piece of furniture!! Today an X Console Table is headed to the East Coast. Honestly I didn’t think I’d ever have pieces in other states. Let alone shipping Furniture. It can be expensive, but if a client really likes your work they’ll buy it.
We’ve had an Etsy page for almost 2 years now. I think. We’d get questions all the time about shipping. We’d send a quote and the price would be outrageous!! It even scared me. But a lot has changed in shipping for Furniture Makers. Through a fellow WoodworkHER who lives on the East Coast, I asked how she shipped all her builds for a reasonable price. uShip!. I did my research and sure enough it was almost half the price. Offering that really opened up orders the last couple months. We now have 2 orders headed to California this month and 1 next month!! WHAT?!?!
The day I got the East Coast order I teared up. I couldn’t believe it was happening! I just kept saying it over and over. I just thought about how much I’ve grown in the last few years. Not just our business, but my Woodworking skills. I’ve learned a lot of new things and I’ve even failed at some, but it just makes you try even harder. I still refuse to use a Table Saw though. I want to keep my fingers! So I leave that to Noah. 🙂
I’m looking forward to many more builds going to different states.
